Intellectual property rights in photography and video work belong to the author under Turkey's Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works. The client receives a licence to use the images within the scope and period set in the contract. The summary below describes usage scopes; the exact terms are in the shooting contract.
Licence types
- Personal use: Portrait, family and wedding shoots; unlimited for printing and personal sharing.
- Commercial web and social media: Five years for product and corporate shoots, unlimited territory on digital platforms.
- Advertising and print: Billboards, catalogues and media ads are licensed separately.
- Full assignment: Transfer of copyright is possible with a special contract and extra fee.
Portfolio permission
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, we may use selected frames from shoots in our portfolio and social media. Clients wanting confidentiality (for example unreleased product shoots) state this in the brief; in that case the frames are not used.
Model and property releases
Permissions for people and locations appearing in a shoot are managed together with the client. For advertising shoots a model contract is prepared.
